What a crazy few weeks it has been! If you are like me, you are stuck in your house and trying desperately to think outside the box on how to keep yourself and your children entertained! As chaotic as this time may feel, we must make our first priority to keep ourselves and our loved ones protected and healthy. Other than social distancing, one of the best ways we can do this is by eating nutrient and vitamin-rich foods to keep our immune system strong and ready to fight back, if necessary.

Some great immune boosting foods are:

  • Dark leafy greens (Kale, spinach, broccoli…)
  • Citrus fruits (oranges, lemons, grapefruit…)
  • Red bell peppers
  • Yogurt (with live active cultures) or even a probiotic supplement
  • Almonds and sunflower seeds
  • Fish and seafood

Also, staying hydrated will help in keeping you healthy and limiting your risk of COVID-19. So keep your water bottle full and aim to get at least half of your body weight in ounces each day (If you weigh 150 pounds, your goal is 75 oz of water per day, minimum!)

I am praying for peace and good health for all of my current, former, and future clients during this time. I think it is so important to try to make the best out of every situation, so let us find some excitement in more time spent with loved ones, more time to try new recipes and cook at home, more time to be outside and active, and most of all, more time to simply be still and present.
